Who We Are

Hey there, my name is Faith Kahovec & I would love to be your dog’s next stop.

Like many dog lovers, my journey started early. I grew up surrounded by Golden Retrievers and Labradors—classic family dogs who lived a simple life with a yard to run in and a family to love.

But when I adopted my first dog, Koda, I realized I wanted something more for her. I dove into research and soon landed a local pet sitting job. That job opened the door to working with hundreds of dogs—young and old, shy and reactive, and everything in between. I then spent two years under the mentorship of a professional dog trainer, learning the ins and outs of canine behavior, positive reinforcement training methods, and handling skills.

Still, I felt something was missing.

That’s when I started working hands-on with my own dogs and those of friends, using what’s known as Balanced Dog Training. This approach combines positive reinforcement with tools like prong collars and E-collars to provide both encouragement and accountability. I appreciated the structure this method offered—it allowed me to build a strong relationship with the dog while helping them understand clear expectations. After all, dogs are amazing companions, but they still need guidance to thrive in our human world.

The most valuable education I’ve ever received hasn’t come from books or certifications—it’s come from working directly with the dog in front of me and focusing on real-world results.

My training philosophy is centered around three core goals:

  • Building confidence in your dog’s everyday life

  • Creating reliability in behavior

  • Shaping a dog that’s simply enjoyable to live with

Because at the end of the day, that’s what we all want—a dog we can truly enjoy life with.

What sets me apart as a trainer is my self-awareness. I know my strengths, I know my limits, and I’m honest about what I can and cannot take on. That honesty is what allows me to grow in this ever-evolving field. I’m constantly learning, always observing, and forever a student of the dog.

I’m incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with your dog. If you have any questions or want to hear more about my journey, I’d love to connect.

Your Dog’s Best Friend,
